Gigabot 3D printer

A development team recently started a Kickstarter project called the Gigabot, which is a 3D printer that they hope to bring to the masses able to print larger 3D models than typical desktop printers found on the shelves today.

The goal of this device is to provide a full 24'' x 24'' x 24'' printing area with 100 micron layer resolution, something that used to be available only in expensive industrial printers. This could be useful for artists or designers wanting to print their 3D models in the real world. The Kickstarter has already reached its funding goal so this project is likely to happen.
