Blender source code will move to GIT

According to the latest developer meeting notes published by the Blender developers, it seems like this popular 3D modeling software will start working on a transition from SVN to the popular GIT source code control protocol.

GIT is something used by many developers and contributors of open source projects, and this move will allow Blender users to contribute to the project in a much easier way. However the team will have some hurdles to surpass before this move can be done. The first step will be to create a migration design and plan along with a way to support older systems.
