Shade 3D for Unity announced

This week, E-Frontier announced the release of Shade 3D for Unity, coming this November. The new tool will be available for free through the Mac AppStore, and integrate tightly into the Unity development workflow.



Shade has been around for decades as a 3D modeling application, and its professional version is used by 3D artists, game designers and indie developers around the world. Now, the company says that Shade 3D for Unity will enable new users to build animated project content that integrates with Unity 3D, the game development system for Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, and Android with the high level of compatibility between Shade 3D for Unity and Unity itself.

* Draft Ray Tracing Renderer
* FBX-friendly Bone Structure
* Paintable Bone Weight Mapping Tool
* FBX compatible Inverse Kinematics Feature
* Scene Loader for Unity (imports .shd files; available through Unity Asset Store)
* Simple Spring Motion Simulator(Baked Simulation result exportable to Unity)
* Key Frame Animation(Baked Key Frame for Unity is output in addition to Key Frame for Shade)
