Twitter image sharing stats published

Skylines, a company behind photo sharing software, posted some stats today about how Twitter users are sharing photos and other media. After analyzing over 24 million images in a one week period in late October, the data shows that most people prefer Twitter for the iPhone (21%), or the web version (17%). In fact, it recently passed the previous top services, TwitPic and yfrog.

The study also showed other stats, like the fact that Twitter's iOS 5 integration in early October has been widely successful, becoming the 7th most preferred way to share photos in just 2 weeks. Another interesting fact is that users seem to prefer a different sharing platform based on the device they use. Twitter itself is most popular on the iPhone, yfrog keeps the top spot on BlackBerry, and TwitPic on Android devices.

Almost no one uses MMS anymore to share on Twitter, and it accounts for only 0.4% of all media shared.
