Vimeo bans game videos

Kotaku reports that in a bizarre move, Vimeo is starting to wage war against indie video game artists. It would appear that the popular video uploading site allows most any art to be uploaded for free, including traditional paintings, sculpting, dances, and so on, but if you produce digital art that is in any way connected to video games, suddenly they charge $200 or threaten to ban your account, and delete all your videos. Several independent developers have been hit by the new policy so far. Right now it seems the choices are to pay up, or pack your content and leave to YouTube or another service.
