Arion renders physically accurate images in minutes

This weekend, Arion, a very fast renderer by RandomControl, announced a new impressive Sub-Surface Scattering (SSS) feature that can produce life-like images in just minutes.

SSS, the process of simulating how light reacts to a translucent object, is one of those functions that typically make renders take a lot longer than usual. Now, their new system is said to produce 100% physically correct imagery with unbiased Sub-Surface Scattering at a much greater speed, using both CPUs and GPUs in a computer.

The new feature is said to be included in version 1.5.1, which should enter public beta soon, and will be free to current customers.
