Lytro introduces light field camera

Lytro today released their innovative camera. They call it their first consumer light field camera. According to the press release, this light field camera captures all the rays of light in a scene, providing new capabilities never before possible, such as the ability to focus a picture after it's taken.

The pocket-sized camera has a 8x optical zoom and f/2 lens in an interesting, cubic design. It creates what the company calls interactive living pictures that can be endlessly refocused. We interviewed them a while back, talking about some of the technology they created for this device.

The camera is available in two models, 8GB and 16GB, and three colors, starting at $399.
