Replacing Star Wars elements

Time Magazine has an interesting article about who owns Star Wars, at least in a moral sense, and whether it's right for film makers to replace key scenes of old movies just because technology allows them to. Should a puppet be replaced with a CGI version because we can, and should voice be added to Darth Vader even though a large fan base thinks it shouldn't? You can view the result of that change below, and based on the 90% dislike rating, the fans reaction.
