This year's San Diego Comic-Con International
is fast approaching, occurring on July 21-24. All the major players have started to announce their plans for the conference, including the Syfy network, which announced in a press release
that panels will cover the shows Warehouse 13, Eureka, Being Human and Sanctuary, as well as new series Alphas.
Syfy will also hold a screening on Friday night, where fans will get an early sneak peek of that evening's new episode of Haven as well as the following Monday's new episode of Eureka. In the business portfolio, Her Universe
, a leader in female genre merchandise, will unveil the first pieces in the Syfy branded collection of apparel and accessories for the growing female science fiction fan base. Finally, after the show, Syfy and E! will host an exclusive party at the Hotel Solamar.
Cowboys & Aliens will debut
on Saturday in front of 2000 fans. Dark Horse Comics is also distributing a cryptic teaser
about some kind of announcement which will be coming July 20. The BBC will bring
Dr Who's main actors to their panel. And while some movies will feature premieres or panels there, it seems
like TV shows will really be the primary media featured at the convention.
But not everything at Comic-Con is about Hollywood. DeviantART, as the sponsor of Artists' Alley
, is hosting a contest
open to all. Cosplay is also a big deal
at these conventions so that will surely bring a lot of interesting costumes. Finally, plenty of videos are appearing
on YouTube about SDCC, everything from people announcing their own plans, to artists asking fans to vote on their costumes.
