About

This page contains some details about myself.

With over 20 years experience working with technology, I've had the opportunity to be involved in many areas of the business IT landscape, developing a large breadth of knowledge through my work and hobbies.

I started using DOS and Linux computers and spending time on IRC channels in the 1990s, then migrated to MMORPG games, newsgroups and forums. I've worked as a Systems Administrator on Linux and Windows servers, created small Python scripts, HTML and PHP web sites, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and built my home lab containing Raspberry Pi devices, routers, switches, PCs and mobile devices. My day job is now as a Cloud Architect designing enterprise environments in Azure and AWS. I enjoy PC gaming, Anime, figure collecting, Star Wars and Star Trek, creating 3D renders, and exploring new technologies like AI and Quantum.

Home lab

I've administered hundreds of servers, virtual machines and containers over the years. These days, my home lab consists of a NAS using ZFS on NVMe disks, a cluster of Proxmox mini PCs running dozens of my own custom applications, open source apps along with various workloads in high-availability, and a Raspberry Pi running a custom made status screen. This lab is used constantly to learn new technologies, test hardware and software.

HOBBIES

Digital art

Around 2007-2015 or so I created a number of 3D renders using the software products Poser and E-On Vue. I made over 1,000 images in those years until I ran out of ideas for scenes to create. Here are some examples:

In 2023 I explored the newly released AI models to create art. I found the result to look much better than the 3D renders I could create, but the creative process was not as satisfying for obvious reasons. Here are some of the results:

Favorite games

This is a list of some of my favorite PC games. I spent thousands of hours playing those:

Favorite TV series

Here are some of my favorite TV series. They are mostly Sci-Fi and action titles:

Figures collecting

Since 2015 I've been collecting scale figures. Most of them are anime or video game characters. I currently have around 230 figures.
